Gorally platform serves as a comprehensive platform for pickleball enthusiasts in India. It allows users to book courts, join games, and participate in events and tournaments across their centers. The platform also offers information on coaching programs led by expert trainers and provides access to high quality pickleball equipment.
While platforms like Playo and Huddle allow users to book sports facilities, GoRally aimed to go beyond, to create an engaging experience that inspires players to play more pickleball and stay connected as a community. The biggest challenge was designing an experience that not only facilitates gameplay but also fosters motivation, connection, and continuity within the sport.
Pickleball tournaments are organized frequently across India, and each event matters to serious players. However, there was no single platform offering real time updates, DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) integration, or live scoring.
Existing tournament platforms lacked visibility, crucial data insights, and engaging visualizations.
Pickleball requires four players per game, making player coordination a major hurdle.
Finding partners with similar skill levels or nearby availability was particularly difficult in metro areas due to scheduling conflicts and travel constraints.
Pickleball in India has grown exponentially, a 275% rise in active players and an increase from 300 to 1,000+ courts between 2021 and 2025. To channel this momentum, GoRally built a community driven ecosystem for Open Play sessions, Events, Tournaments, and Coaching Clinics.
This simplified the entire journey, from search to play.
Since most players prefer mobile interactions, we developed separate UI designs for mobile and web browsers.
The simplified booking flow and event visibility boosted player engagement.
Users easily found partners of similar skill levels, leading to more frequent and consistent gameplay.
Manual coordination, event creation, and payment collection were replaced by automation.
Admins now monitor and manage events effortlessly, improving operational efficiency.
Using Next.js and Nest.js, the platform achieved sub-400ms load times.
This speed, combined with the 3-click booking experience, encouraged higher repeat participation among regular players.
GoRally focused extensively on user accessibility, simplicity, and efficiency before writing a single line of code. By investing significant time in brainstorming and refining user flows upfront, the development process became faster, smoother, and more structured, allowing GoRally to deliver and launch the platform efficiently.
